Vegas trip report 1

I just busted the 2.5k 6 max and feel a bit tilted so im gonna write this blog to untilt me. A brief recap of the trip so far.

Ive played 3 events and busted in the first two levels of 2 and came 30^th in the other. The other two events apart from the 1k were the 2.5k 6 max and the 1.5k 6 max. Apparently i suck at 6 max cos i busted pretty badly in both. Anyways ill talk through some hands i played in the 1k wsop event.

Firstly the wsop 1k was byt far the softest tournament i have ever played in (except maybe a freeroll). It seemed that everyone at my starting table had learnt poker from tv and had no idea about any poker strategy. A lot of them just decided they are gonna play every pot and fold if they don’t hit something, while others will play every pot and then bluff when they feel like it. Of course there are also the general live nits who like to fold AK 10bbs deep. My favourite players though are the ones who fold for two hours and then jam 8 bbs on your open with K8o.

Early on in the tournament i found things pretty easy and quickly doubled my starting stack to 7k without any big pots. Then some gangster sits down with 7kish and decides he is playing every pot and bluffing randomly when he misses. So i open AJs in MP to 300 and he calls on the btn. It comes Qh7h7d ( i got no fd) i bet 325 he snap raises me to 800. Im 90% sure he has air right now with some flush draws mixed in. So i call with the intention of check jamming blank turns. Turn Jd. I check and he bets 250 into 1600. I LOL. And decided to call and let him bluff river also although now im sure he has a flush draw. River Qd. I check intending to call any bet and obv cos he is retarded he checks back a rivered flush and shows 65dd. Wp

I then cooler someone to dbl back to 5k with AA vs KK (J). And go into the 100-200 level with 7k. I 4 bet jam ATs into TT and hit a flush to take me to 14k and then won a flip to get to 20k. Going into 200-400. The rest of the day i just pick bitches off and run super hot to end at 78k coming back to 500-1000 and the bubble.

At the end of day 1 i was completely shattered. The jet lag and the day of grinding saw me pass out instantly when i returned to my room. On day 2 i find myself on a new table in a new room and with B.Roberts (a friend of andys there fore a killer) on my left. I instantly tangle with him in a big pot when i 4 bet jam 55 into his KK for 35bbs each. This puts me down to a 30 bet stack on the bubble and inevitably go card dead for a full two hours. This was nearly fatal but i somehow woke up with JJ with 9bbs and got it in vs 44 and won. From there i didn’t look back and ran up a decent stack before i moved to a table with fatal error on my right with a pretty big stack. I play kinda of nitty and made a bad DJK shove with A4s from the c/o for 20bbs. And the sb tanks for 4 mins before calling with TT. I flop an A and a 4 to take that down. He ends up tilting his balls off later on.

A few flips later and i finish the day with 550k which is good for a top 10 stack with 50 coming left for day 3.

Jack "doctor_fun" Powell has gone under the radar somewhat today but he has quietly amassed a 70,000 stack which puts him right up there with the chip leaders at the moment.

Asked if he had any interesting hands on his journey he replied, "No, just mostly all-in confrontations."

Not surprising, really, seeing as all players started with 3,000 chips.

So i got into vegas on friday and have spent the last 2 days trying to get over my jet lag. Ill write up a full report of the event when im finished. got 73k going into 500-1000 with 790 left and 620 paying. Not sure what average probs around 24k.

GUKPT manchester report

so just got back from manchester gukpt after busting 38th or something. disapointed that i ran bad but played pretty good so im not tilted by it.
So i went up to manchester on thursday night with andy and stayed in some crappy hotel in salford. It did have gd internet tho so i grinded pkr 1knl, the pkr 17k and the ongame 1k (day1a). think i broke even in cash (not sure tho) after losing a flip to dannykk. managed 3rd in pkr 17k despite me having all of the chips with 8 left and the softest final table ive ever played. Most importantly i got through to 2nd day of the ongame 1k (its on sunday) with a reasonable stack. It could of clashed with the gukpt final table but i was hoping to two table them. lol. not sure if they would let me play on my laptop at the final table tho.
Anyways to the gukpt, i started of badly despite another ridiclously soft starting table. was down to 3k after i isolate two limpers w/ KJcc and got called behind and by the first limper. flop was QxTx7xc. i bet 1500 into 2.2k and both call (despite them having 3.5k and 2k back each). the 8c came on the turn and i reluctantly called the first ;impers 3.8k shove (pot was 6.8kish) he ahs J9 for turned nuts (lol). so i have 3.5k after that but dbl back to 7k pretty quick when i get AK in vs 99 and win. After this i tried to punt my stack in 4 way raised pot when i check shoved 98ss n 865hh after a bet and a call. and got nitrolled by AKhh. I suckout/hold and get to 17k.
After this i get to 37k after a few smallish pots and a big one where i flat JJ pre and bet 3 streets vs an overcaller on 852r9Q. I grind the rest of the day and dont get any hands till the penultimate hand of the night.
I had blinded down to 27k and opened AQs in c/o to 2.6k at 500-1kbb. btn 3 bet to 8k and im rdy to jam it in. however some delightful young player decides to cold call the sb. i thought he was pretty decent so figured his range was TT+ here and that he or btn would def call my jam and id be lucky to be racing. So i fold. They somehow get to showdown as the board bricks off (no queen came) and btn has AK and sb has 66 (wtf??). So i end up being really happy to now be freerolling a tournament where i shld of busted.
Day 2 comes along and im ready to get started (despite having to start with 23k at 1200bb). i fold a few orbits and get walked once. so decided to open J10s utg with 22k. obv this is pretty loose but table was playing super nitty and i felt i could get it thru. If i got flatted then my hand plays pretty well vs their flatting range. Also this was the bigest ante lvl (100 ante to 1200bb) so felt i shld be active. anyways sb flats with 35bb stack 9 (had seen him flat BB last hand with A7ss). Flop comes KJ6 with one of my suit. i check it back obv, and bet the turn when he checks twice. He calls. river is a blank and i check behind cos he could be checkcalling stronger hands (AJ, Kx mb) also if i bet and get called and lose i would have 10bbs instead of 19bbs. so i check and he has 22 and i win.
so im on 28kish and open 22 in the cutoff to 3.3k. sb flats and flop comes down pretty good J32dd. i bet 5k and he jams. I ahve my headphones on so dont snap call cos he says allin and i dont hear him but eventually i ask whats going on and delay snap. He has AJ and manages to turn a 5 for a gutshot but i hold vs the minii sweat.
After that hand i have 68k and was ready to take over the table. Once again i open 22 in mid position and the guy behind me falts with 22bbs (so obv he is v strong) sb flats (28bbs ish). flop comes 973r, and we check it around. turn is an 8 and i bet 6k into 10k and the sb calls while the other dwells and folds (said he has AK; learn how to jam preflop imo). river is a 2 and im thinking "easy game", I jam over his 8k bet and he snaps J10o. i cry inside a little.
so then i split a 35k pot with AK to AQ and go into nit mode with a 20bb stack. I finally get a hand at the 2400 lvl with a 40k stack. decided to open KQs in the c/o (sometimes id jame here with my stack size but felt matt perrins in the bb mite do something spazzy if i just open and always get it in preflop if i can). so perrins jams QJs with his 14bb stack me. Seems like a bad spot given my nit mode and short stack equals me having a range that crushes QJs, which i did have crushed. Unfortuanltely he binks a J and im down to 4bbs, and bust pretty quickly after.
Bit disapointed cos felt i was gonna get there on this one.

Live Pokers

So Andy and i decided after watching the dramatic Liverpool vs Arsenal game to go the Western club for some live pokers.
Games was super good as always. It's £5-£5 game with compulsory 10£ btn straddle and a lot of £20 restraddle, so it plays more like a 10-20 game. We both sit with £1k each (split action) and andy is straight into the action isoing A9o pre (he didnt realise at the time this was a bad iso oop in this game) and bet/calling on 9c8d6c for 2.1k pot vs 65dd. He wins and starts to tile the super tard asian guy. This had consequences for the nxt hand andy played. Which made me lol and sigh hard.
Andy completes sb w/ T9ss (action starts on sb due to btn straddle), BB completes, tilted asian guy raises to 50. Btn calls and andy calls. Flop (9d8s5s) asian bets 120 andy calls. Turn was the Th and andy leads for 220 (at this point its obv he ahs T9/QJss to me anyways), obv the tard asian goes nuts and snap raises to 900ish (aka just grabs a bunch of 100s and snap puts them in pot). Andy Jams, tardfish calls and we lose to 85 when a 5 gets there on the river. Sigh we lose the £5k pot and the chance to super tilt the tardfish (who has deep pockets).
Next im up againts the tard fish and overlimp J10o in c/o and the btn checks. comes T75cc. i bet 75, btn calls, asian fish calls. Turn 8x, i bet 155 btn folds asian calls. River 9, asian snap bets 500 into 500, i sigh and think he rivered split. Only to see him flip QJo and am like wtf sir. wpwpwp
manage to grind back to 700 then someohow flop the nuts with AT on AxAhTh9h and double vs flush.
Andy meanwhile gets in tough spot in limped pot with 86o (he was on btn) on 864r after some guy bets he raises smallish and sb min raises. andy calls and then gets it all in on blank turn. I lol when sb shows KK and we scoop in 2k pot.
After that i manage to get super heored by a tilted fish (wasnt sure how tilted or how fishy he actully was at the time). I 3 barrell jam 1.2k effective with QJdd on Td6x4x9d4x only for T8 to tank call me on river cos obv there is only on hand im bluffing with on river and thats a big combo that i picked up on the way. Still obv retarded call.
I relaod for 500 and get AK in vs JJ on KJxcc and lose.
So we finish down 1.4k between us whichw asnt bad given how terrible we ran and im super excited to return to the game.
will be in manchester this weekend.

So had another good sunday. Shipped a wsop seat (which i basically got gifted as two ppl decided to "put the pressure" on the nit) on party, cashed in 4 tournies and came 3rd in the UB 200k. Feel like i played really well in every tournie today, which included sereval deep runs. Dont really have too many interesting hands from UB, managed to grind it to get deep the took the chiplead after flopping a set vs slow played overpairs twice in the space of two hands (both had KK owned :P). Held the chiplead till the FT bubble and came into the FT 4/9 but quickly got the chiplead. Went card dead and cos every1 was so shallow i just had to wait around for gd spot which didnt really come. manage to ladder to 3rd and then get semi coolered blind v blind 12 bbs deep (A10>JJ).

Really happy tho. ive been killing mtts recently and really enjoy playing them again (obv cos im winning)

Keep forgetting to post, so i thought id do a big post and recap what has happened since my last post.

First of all i managed to run super bad in that 1k ongame and was supertilted for about a week afterwards. On day 2 i managed to maintain a huge chiplead from the start of the day until 20 were left. then some guy decided it was a great idea to call my 4 bet for 1/3 of his stack with TT and manages to flop a Ten vs my QQ. I still had a decent stack and busted after 3 betting a utg open w/ AhKx(i had a 30bb stack) and he flats obv. comes Jh10h3h. i jam for just over pot or something and he snaps me off with 97hh obv. Cos why wouldnt he hav 97hh (ljksdnglkjsdfnbkjdfh). 8h on turn made me think id won it but obv straight flush beats nut flush. Fuck ongame. shld of had like a 4x chiplead instead i bust 18th for 4k$.

Anyway after that i grinded cash until ftops started and did alright. ill post a graph at the end of this blog.

Ftops obv went well for me, as i managed to build 5 top ten stacks in different tournies but didnt manage to get super deep until event 20 where i got the chiplead and held it with 60 left until two tables out. Came into the final table 4/6 and managed to get 3rd after being super card dead for most of the final table. so ship the 41k.

since then i havent done much. got scammed for 4k to some dickhead called marc wright (dont lend him any money).

went deep in gukpt walsall but spewed my chips off at the end in some marginal spots.

oh well. im gonna post at least once a week from now on.

Cunn1ngStunt - Chip leader day 1a Ongame 1k

After a week of coolers served up regularly at the cash tables, i decided to play some donkament. I played 12 in all (3 satelites) and didnt cash in any of them. Played pretty good and didnt regret many of my decisions except for a hastey decision i made in the stars 100r.

Anyways, i did manage to get a huge stack in the ongame 1k (which is a 2 day event; continues sunday). So ill post some hands from that and needless to say this is the softest and best value tournament on the internet.

Missed the first hour (it didnt popup wtf) and was down to 5k but then amanged to dbl up with AA into JJ and then managed to hit a set of fours vs 66 on a 754 board (i held obv).

hand 1 - some guy suddenly wants to rep a 5 here. 7 hi gd enough to rebluff.

hand 2 - here some guy just decides to straight up hero call me down.

hand 3 - kinda of a standard hand here. i'm not surprised to see QJ, and manage to hold after turn somehow.

hand 4 - here i 3 bet light and he snap bets and snap shoves turn. my timing tells told me he was up to something,

hand 5 - im not sure i like my flop bet here prefer just check folding but was trying to get tens to fold, end up trying to figure out if i had implied odds to hit my gutter and figured i just about had them. Although its def marginal, i felt he nearly always has a set or mb AQ (imb 2% of time lol) and that if i hit i can just jam turn and get paid off for huge pot. Which i did... weeeeeeeeeee

hand 6 - The same guy then just tilt calls off his stack and i end the day with 160k going into the 400-800 level. I think im about 40k ahead of 2nd place on day 1a but cant be sure.

Anyways i have had decent stacks in this before only to run bad on day 2. so wish me luck in this one. Starts at 7pm on sunday.

In other news my horse came 7th in the gukpt so i ended up not losing too much.

Cash hasnt been going very well was up 30k, then down 30k or something stupid think im only down 2.8k now so its a nice come back.

GUKPT Brighton

hey all,
someone mentioned my blog at the GUKPT brighton and i remembered i hadnt blogged in a while so i thought id post a trip report.
After my standard -$30k, +$30k, -$30k cash swings. i decided i needed a break from online poker and headed down to brighton for the gukpt festival. Came down with a few online friends (johne147, andy teng, and richard).
Busted the two side events i played in pretty standard spots to wierd live donks. Moving on to the Main Event:
Decided to play Day 1a as i was already down here and didnt want to hang around. Turned out that day 1a was tougher than 1b as there were a lot of young aggro internet kids in the field as opposed to the usal amatuer retarded live donks.
Early on i ran up a huge stack on a very soft table that pitted me next to former gutshot dealer tony phillips. First big pot i won was kinda of a cooler for tony. He raises UTG and i flat AA utg+1 for deception and value, two others call and we go 4 way to flop. 10s2s2x was a pretty good flop for me so i just flat Tony's cont bet and guy behind calls. Turn 6x tony bets i bet 1k into 1.4k he calls. River 8x and Tony check calls a decent sized bet from me and shows QQ.
Then hand before break i raise J9s and flop a straight draw vs tony and 1 other. I bet both call turn i hit and get two more big bets out of Tony. At first break im Chip leader with 29k. I was Killing it and prety confident. After the break i got moved to a tough table with Johne147 and Trickett to my direct left. I get involved pretty quickly and raise AQo n the button at 75-150.
Trickett makes it 1.6k from the BB and says he has a 7k stack. I obv ship it in only to realise he has 9k total. He snaps AK and i lose 18k pot. Sucks as if i knew he had 9k i may have played hand differently. Anyway im down to 24kish and tilting a little bit so obviously Ian (phil helmuth) Fraser sits down to my right and starts playing super retarded but winning a ton of pots by being a luckbox. First one i open AhQx btn flats and fraser flats (25bbs deep or something) comes J8xhh which gets checked around. turn was the 10h which gave me a lot of equity so obv i fire 2/3 pot at which point fraser decides he wants to click it back in my face. i call and river K, so obv pay his K4hh off. fucker.
Next he limps and some guy overlimps and i isolate to 2k (200-400bb) with a 20k stack. Everyone folds and fraser decides to make it 4.2k total. He has me tilted by now so i call with J10hh to try and flop hot. comes K62r and he jams 2x pot.
Manage to get back to 44k after i raise AhQx (again) utg and BB defends. comes J33hh and bb leads for 2k into 5k. I call. Turn is Kh he checks i bet 6k with 12k back he jams. I obv snap as im not folding this and bink the 10h on the river to beat KJ. (guy thought i was a fish for calling the turn shove). Manage to get to 65k before fraser owns me again when he shoves 15bbs over my 3bb utg+1 open with K9o and gets there vs my 77. If he ever wanted hu for rolls id be there in a flash guy is so retarded, the hands he plays are so bad that i cant even write about them they just make my mind asplode.
So i finish the day on 45k which wasnt too bad. I also had 15% of Richard who made day 2 aswell.
Day 2 was pretty uneventful. 4 bet shipped 88 c/o vs btn 40bbs deep and guy folds. Bluff a couple of pots and stay around average. Then the blinds go up and im struggling with 25bbs. Folds to me in the sb and i look down at A5ss. Given stack sizes (26bbs effextive) i decided to Limp jam and ran into AK and lost. Pretty happy with how i played but obv didnt want to finish 28th when 22 pay. Meh.
Richard still in now with 18 left so ship that equity check for updates on him on blonde poker.

Amsterdam Master Classics: winning big flips :)

So im in amsterdam and got up super early today cos Andy snores like a giant gorrila. playing the Main event here (6.2k euro buyin) today at 3 an am really conifident about my chances.
The trip to amsterdam yesrterday was looooooooong. I got up at 9.30am left at 10am and got to my hotel in amsterdam at 19.00. Delays at every possible point in the jopurney where the flight was the shorteest part (1hr). I also ran bad with turbulence which was terrifyig cos i hate flying when its smooth and not flinging the plane up down left right etc.
Oh well, trip has to get better from here right? wrong. get to casino they wont accept my card to buyin. i ask ppl fr money but no one willing/able to donate to my tiny amsterdam bankroll. I finally manage to get 3.6k euros off my card and retire to some beers and spliffs with some friends, fully expecting to have to play live cash all week.
I got pretty high/drunk and Rubin (genius) came up with the idea o going to casino and putting 3k on routlette red/black in order to play the tournament. So we promptly head to the casino (me bneing unable to hold a conversation for longer than ten seconds. put 3k on red. finally run good for the day and win. I guess that makes up for the 7 hr trip.

Many of you may have notice that I haven’t updated my blog in a very long time. Don’t worry I haven’t died, gone to prison or gone busto. To put it simply I got bored of tournament poker and could never be arsed to update my blog with cash hands. Since the wsop I’ve switched mainly to cash games, playing 2-4$ to 10-20$ or a few very soft sites. I have managed to make some decent profits despite a couple of tilt sessions where I have lost 20k+ in a day.

Cash wise my game has improved a lot. I have mainly been playing on sites where poker tracker isn’t compatible so I can’t really post any specific hands. I’m killing 2-4$ at 14bb/100 over 20k hands or something which is running pretty hot although this site I play on is pretty easy so I think I can maintain 8-12bb/100. Also playing a lot of hu nlhe and having success versus some of the regs on these euro sites. I m not gonna mention the site names cos I want all those monies for myself. It is funny tho that all the regs think I’m some fish and then play me I take 5 buyins they quit me and refuse me action after. Kind of sucks that a lot of them won’t give me action anymore; they are such a goldmine.

As for tournaments I have mainly been playing the Sunday majors and some big live events. My biggest scores online are deep runs in the wcoop main event and a few final tables n the Ladbrokes Sunday 50r and a few big party tourneys. I’ve been in good shape in a few tourneys but haven’t managed to get lucky at the end and failed to get to a big final table. The wcoop was disappointing as I was a top 30 stack from very early on until after the bubble. Live tournaments have been a disappointing although I have only played two since the wsop. Played the ept London and came in as an alternate as I forgot to buy in early and it sold out quickly. Coming in at the beginning of level 2. I managed to flop a set in a 6 way limped pot on a Kd10d4x (44 obv) and KQ calls my c/r , my bet on turn (K) and my river shove (3x). ty sir. So get 20k early (10k starting) but then get moved to a terrible table with max pescatori on my right, and Jeff Lisandro/some Irish wsop bracelet holder/Gavin griffin on my left. So obv I start to struggle. Manage to inexplicably be a complete live fish and misclick a hand where I have AA and let the other guy hit two pair on the river while paying off half my stack. Then grind and bust in race vs. griffin. Oh well.

Just busted the gukpt thanet which I’m really disappointed about. I played really well on day 1 managing to be one of the chip leaders for most of the day. The last two levels I got tired and failed to bust Karl Marenholz when I misplayed I hand blind on blind. Then I managed to be a live fish again getting in A10 on A435dd board after some old guy c/r turn after I checked behind on the flop. Obv he is huge with 55 and I lose 40k pot putting me down to 30k. Still above avg but meh I was disappointed. Managed to chip up to 40k to end the day. So didn’t sleep much last night and managed to donk off my stack pretty early as I was brain dead and managed to convince myself 105o was good on 9546cc board. He flopped a set obv. Sigh live fish own me (he donk pots flop and turn with set wtf??) still 2^nd pair probs not good and I don’t know what I was thinking. So gg me and I’m back off to London. Update: obviously tufat won (andy teng), what a gangster.

My plans at the moment are to keep grinding cash, head to Amsterdam for the masters classic in mid November and then head to India for a well earned holiday. I hope I can hit a result or a good cash run before I leave for India. Ill try and update more

So i bust the wsop ME in the 2nd level. kinda sucks. table was pretty soft for first 30 mins until that empty seat on my left gets filled by allen "fucking" cunningham. Give him half my stack in meh spot.
I raise JJ utg at 50-100 (20k effective stacks), cunning ham calls, utg+2 calls and BB calls. flop 822dd, i bet 1k he calls. turn 6o. I bet 2.2k he calls. river 2x. Impretty sure his range now is 99,1010 and QQ+. i decided to bet 3k as a blocker even though i probs could of check folded as he isnt gonna bluff me here and i rarely expect him to turn up with a missed fd. meh whatever he calls with KK.
then i get down to 8k at 100-200. Tight player opens to 800 utg+3 i flat JJ in c/o. flop 10xxss, he pots it, i sigh and call intending to fold to turn aggression. turn K, check check. river J. i think bang there it is. he ebts 2k i shove for 6k he thinks and says "i cant fold this". and flips KK. gg me.

so i arrived in vegas on friday only to find out andy couldnt get a room for the weekend so ended up sleeping on a couch. sigh variance.

So played the 1.5k wsop event and the play was so bad i was fist pumping inside. I manage to chip up to 6k before the 1st break (3k starting stack) with out any showdowns. That was pretty crucial as i had no hands at all. Then i get moved to another table with chris vaughn (meh spelling, guy from bluff who sold million and 750k stack to imperium, i think). He proceeds to run over table and i get no hands to fight back with. Oh well. so dont make any progress then get 88 in vs 8 bb stack lose, and get crippled and never recover. blah blah.

Sundays weren't great. got coolered all over etc.

staying at the bellagio tonite for a few days and am hoping to grind the live cash all week until the next wsop 1.5k.

Moving to the palms after that. Hoping online goes a bit better and i dont lose too much of my Bankroll while im here.

Hanging out with shaun deeb and thary and some other guys is obv very good for my game.

So its been a long time since i last updated my blog, so ill try and fill in the blanks.

Basically been very lazy in last month. Mostly playing cash games on a new site pretty successfully and barely playing any tournaments at all as i cant seem to do shit in them anymore. I have lost most of my confidence in my tournament play. I just cant ever seem to get anything going and hardly cash at all. Probs just a downswing but i feel im not playing as good as i used to.

Anyways moving on, i've been killing at 1knl on this new site (which im not gonna name, cos its so good). Every1 is so awful tho, they all play pretty loose passive so when i run hot i absolutely kill the games. Even the 10-20 is soft and im running pretty good there. Up around 30k or so without putting that many hands. Unfortunately i dont have any hand histories to show u guys.

Heading to vegas tomorrow, staying with andy and some other guys at the rio and the maybe the palms later on. My plan is to play some of the 1.5ks and 2k wsop events. I'll also be grinding the live cash games. Hoping to just break even out there tbh. Obv playing the main event on the 3rd and ill try and update this as regularly as possible.

So i have been playing the 100r recently and felt that i was doing a lot better. Played it the other night while drunk and managed to bubble in a big race where the other might have folded (but they all donks). Anyways i kinda got the 100r bug now.

Sundays were a wash out as i was hungover and payed some v good and some v bad hands. Busted the warmup early despite owning the table in the first hour:

This was a very tough spot vs my second round opponent but with no info other than he was good. losing week

So after that 300 win ive had a pretty shit weak. few cashes on sunday and very few since then. Add these together with 4k cash losses and that equals a bad week.
So it would of been nice if one of the three rebuy tournaments i went deep in paid off. Alas they didnt.

Firstly i final tabled the ftp 30r (nicknamed "the moorman" as chris wins it 3 times a week) but a lack of cards meant i finished in 7th. Then i managed a 5th in the stars 20r playing really nitty with the cards i got and losing some critical pots.

Lastly i finally managed to get deep in the 100r but after playing my best poker for a while and running decently i lost a big flip and busted shortly after. So far i think im 6k$ down this week but not entirely sure. sigh.

Oh well gl all. taking day off and back on saturday.

Another 300 win !!!!!!

well another week and another satuday 320$ win. this time it was on pokerstars where i managed to take down the only major satuday 320 i hadnt won yet (party last week and won the ftp one ages ago). I played pretty good in all my tournies but got a bit wasteful towards the end of the stars 109 and 50r, where i donked some big stacks.

the 320 was fun tho and things went my way around the bubble where i managed to go from 16bbs to 60bbs fairly quickly winning races and becoming a card rack. the final table was a bit of grind until we got 4 handed and i doubled with AK vs 44 in a standard resteal situation. Then i won 55 vs 66 (skill game obv). When we got down to heads up i felt i had the better of my opponent despite him having a 2 to 1 chip lead. I doubled early and took the lead with KK vs J7 on a J hi board but i played to many 3 bet pots out of position when he just wasnt folding to my 3 bets so he grinded back to even. I finally managed to pick up a hand in the BB and got it in with KK vs a flush draw and held for the win. weeeeeeeeeeeee

Maybe i can make a surge up the rankings now as my plb score is seriously low. oh well.

GUKPT donk out,student tournie win, and first ever party win!!

SO played a student donkament with my old mates last week and obviously won. Ran super hot as i blind shoved 62s and tripled up into the chip lead. Then got TT in vs AA for 50% of the chips in play, and obv hit my straight. Manage to take it down from there for £1k. Which was ok i guess.
Anyways, somehow had a bad week spent a load of cash so it was nice to take down the party 50k for a total of 16k. This tournie has owned my soul this year as every week i seem to final table it only to come 7th or 8th etc. So this time with my lucky party charm moorman1 at the table i liked my chances. Was Chip leader for most of the final table before caliing 3 streets from moorman blind on blind with middle pair and getting rivered. Got to HU and ran a bit cold vs complete donk who wanted to deal with 3 left. meh. So won that. :)
Also made day 2 the mansion 1k with a good stack so have a chance in that. Busted the 888.com 3 million which had an 800k overlay with KK into AA. sigh. Just give me that cooler in any other 1k tournie just not the one with the huuuuuuuuuuge overlay and 1 mill 1st prize. so sick.

So was playing cash alst nite and had sick run to end up 3k down yay! so played some donkaments and played pretty well managing a 14th in the 40k ftp and winning the stars 50r for 8k.

So as i said in my last post i have been concentrating on my cash game. and this week has been another good week so far. Except for a little slip up after arsenal got cheated out of the champions league (lucky scousers) and i dropped 5 buyins in 30 mins tilting like crazy. Anyways here is my weeks graph so far:

Been lazy recently and havent posted in a while. Played the GSNP (1k$ live donkament) last week and ran pretty hot on day1. Finished the day as chip leader with a 10k lead over 2nd place and a big lead over the rest of the field. I was very confident going into day 2 as the play up till now had been ridiculously bad. It carried on that way on day 2 but somehow i kept running into hand after hand (got showed AA 4 times). So basically i grinded all day and managed to cash in 15th (15 paid) and busted 15th when i lost a race. So live donkaments are rigged.

Played some tournies online and managed a 3rd in the stars 4 max and a 4th in the stars 109 for around 5k. Since i havent managed much at all...

Anyways, been playing a decent amount of cash in the last few weeks. Started of playing 200nl on mansion and quickly realised how soft the site was so moved up to 400nl pretty quick where i have now clocked 20k hands and 18k profit which is pretty sick. Thinking im gonna move up to 600nl soon as the play seems just as bad there. I'm also thinking about only playing donkaments on the weekend and playing cash during the week as i have become bored of the daily tournie grind and feel i can make more $ playing cash during the week.

Thought last night was gonna be a washout but somehow i managed to take down another wsop seat on party. Stars pays out wsop seats in cash while party buys you straight in so i guess ill take the stars cash and use my party seat.

The satellite was pretty fun as i was on a table with moorman for most of it and he was running sick hot taking out half the field. I was just grinding and playing super nitty as i didnt have stack for most of the tournie.

The Lock Out!!!!!!!!!

ok so i am an idiot. I set up for the usual sunday tournies and invite my mate tufat over. So he gets here and i go down to let him in. obv i forget my keys and the door shuts behind me. Cue panic as i realise i have bought into everything already and many of the sites dont let you log in if you are already logged in somewhere else (obv i was still logged on). Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh

So i call locksmith and he takes an hour only to tell us i have somehow double locked it and i cant get in without a key. My flat mate wasn't due home for 2 hours so we hotstepped it over to Andys.
I go on huge tilt trying to email sites to remotely disconnect me and lose about 1k in equity of tournaments i am unable to play. salkdnaslkndaslknsdgdsfg

Anyways still managed to have a good sunday. Made final table on crypto £40k but busted in 9th after calling 20bb open shove with AK (QJs gets there obv). 2400$ for that and it covered most of my sunday expenses. I also managed a FT in the 20r for 1k$.

The big news was being able to ship a WSOP seat on my first attempt. Pretty happy about that.

I've got an interview with chris moorman and John tabbati (spelling?) later which should be fun. Been up since 1am sigh.

This month has gone pretty well except for the vienna bubble and bubbling every other major event i seem to enter. Gonna take some time off and play cash games for a bit and get in 10k+ hands at 400nl before moving up to 1k nl. Hopefully i can keep playing well.

So i got back from Vienna last night after a very disappointing day where io played some sick poker only to get 2 outered and bubble in 21st. thank you live poker.

I was on the tv table at the beginning of the day and got 3 bet the first 2 hands that i raised. I the n get dealt KK and should of flatted but i put in a "frustrated" 4 bet and he mucked. Then i raised Q10ss on shortstack's big blind and the "devilfish" called from the sb. We both playing 100k+ stacks at 800-1600 (200 ante).
The flop was 8d7d3s and he checks calls my 7k c-bet. River Ks easy double card and he once again calls my 13k bet after thinking for a while. I am now [positive he has flush draw, this read is then confirmed on the river when devilfish annouces that "i played this hand badly, i should of raised you on the flop". So i bet 23k so i dont get shown an A hi flush draw and he mucks face up. LOL at how bad he plays.

Anyways i then got in to a sticky spot with KK where i c/f turn on Q733 board in a 3 bet pot vs a tight solid satellite player who told me later he had 77 (he ain't lying).

So somehow im done to 50k at 1200-2400 and i jam KK over a utg raise only to get called by JJ and a J flopping. GG.

vienna day 2

Made day 3 of Vienna with 105k (avg 78k) after an eventful day where i managed to play well and awful at the same time. Grinded a 50k stack for most of the day (ran AA into AA obv) until i call a raise from a solid 30bb (CO) stack with AJ on button. FLOP Ks7s3x he bets pot, i call as obv he is weak here with a pot bet and im looking to make a move on the turn when he gives up. Turn was an Ace and he spaz shoves all in for 22k (pot was 20k). I call he has JJ (LOL). wp sir.

so im on 80k now at 600-1200bb and i raise TT on the button in to the big stacks BB. He had been pretty TAG up till now and had showed down a lot of big hands. He obv 3 bets me to 10k and i sigh. i call. flop 234r. he bets out 13k i call. turn is 5x. he checks, ( i shld probs bet here to make him fold non A hands but its hard to represent an A here with the action). river is 9. check check and i beat two hands weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. he has QQ obv.

So im down to 50k and manage to grind up to 75k when this wierd german guy who has played pretty weak all night raises to 3x in the cutoff. I make it 10k with A6cc (he has about 75k too) obv he calls. FLOP QJxhh i flat in order to check raise flop so that i dont get flatted and have to c.f turn. I can rep huge here and can give up easy too. He checks behind tho so i bet out the turn 5h for 13.5k. He thinks for a bit looks at one card (lol such flushdraws) and calls. river is a brick so i tank a bit and bet half 24k ( nearly half his stack) he tanks and folds. I let out huge breath haha.

so now i have 105k and the structure is pretty sick. there are 36 left with 18 paid and i think i can just chill for a bit. When it gets to 30bbs deep i figure i have a huge edge vs these guys when that shallow (big edge when deep stacked too obv).

170k 1st prize would be pretty sick. so looking forward to tomorrow. gl me.

so I'm in Vienna playing the 3k euro challenge tournie. Doing pretty well in the main event but ill talk about that later.
Firstly as part of the party satellite package was entered into a 60 man 60k freeroll team event. It was basically a satellite tournament where one team would play from 30 to 5 players and then those 5 would play the final table where the payout structure was flat and each member of the team would get 750 euros if they won. It was 10k for first so i really wanted to win. The structure was awful (basically a 10x turbo) and only tony g remained of the the big live pros party poker had invited (roland de wolfe, devilfish and some other randoms were also playing). It was also a tv final table which was funny as there was absolutely no poker being played due to avg stack being around 5bbs for the most part. Anyways i was pretty grumpy throughout as i had been up for 24 hours and the structure made me want to cry. So eventually i get down to 2bbs after losing a race and then go on big rush and get half the chips in play, which was 12bbs (lol). then run AQ into AK 4 handed and 6bbs deep, lol. and end up coming 2nd for 7k euros. FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

moving on to the main event today....

the structure was pretty sick with 15k starting stack and 90 mins levels with small increases throughout. I however was very tired and felt pretty sick and played really really bad all day. I get super lucky early on after over limping 33 and calling a raise. I then proceed to check raise 10106 flop vs initial raise an bet 1/3 of my stack on turn (sighing when i get called) and obv hitting 3 on river. Weee such donk double ups.

So i continue to play really bad until i get moved table and realize i shld just tighten up and the atm donkey who was raising and calling every hand to pay me off.

So i raise 99 in the CO on his big blind to 800 at 150-300 (i had 15k stack, he covers me). he calls (obv)

i check behind looking to get some turn and river value of an 8
turn 9h
ship it.... he bets 2k in 1750 on the turn i make it 5k total (of my 14k stack) he shakes his hand and calls (wtf)

bad river for me as if i was bluffing with air i probs hit this river and could value shove an A and obv a flush. So i shove expecting him to fold (he never has fd or straight imo as he shld jam turn with both but live players are wierd)
Anyway he tanks and calls with J4. LOL.
so im up 25k at this point and then manage to get that donks stack with QQ after he 3 bets me pre and i call. Flop top set but didn't think i needed to. check called Q hi flop, lead turn for 1/4 of his stack (he calls lol)
and folds to my river shove for for 9k into around 30k on QxxJx board.
so ended the day with 45k and the avg stack is 25k tomorrow. 98 left with 18 paid so should be fun....

So haven't been posting at all recently. being pretty lazy about it.
Not much has gone on since my last post. Been playing less tournaments a lot of cash. Haven't really played a lot of hands at cash in the past and have always been a good mtt player and a mediocre cash player. So this year i decided i'd work a lot harder on my cash game and pay my dues at 200nl before moving up to 400nl. So having grinded around 19k hands at 200nl and 400nl i am pleased to say that i am 11k in profit. it has been pretty nice being able to platy cash for a couple of hours a day and then go chill for the rest of the day rather than spend 10 hours grinding tournies. Anyways played the gukpt london and busted out after putting a big bluff on:

utg (donk station) limps for 150, utg+1 raises to 375 (imo he can never be huge here as the donk will call a lot preflop and i feel this is a marginal hand trying to isolate the donk), i'm on the button with 109o and raise to 1200, utg folds and utg+1 calls (15k effective stacks i think). Anyways board come K82ss i bet 1500 he calls, (at this point i put him on KJ/KQ or some wierdly played flush draw. The turn as an A and is obv a great bluffin card so i follow up with another bet and he calls, river is a blank he checks i fire 4kish in 7kish he snaps me with KJo (wtf). I have no idea why he calls here he beats nothing but air and after he asks "You had a pair right?" which just shows that he has no idea as i am never value betting less than a K on the river and probs dont even bet turn with that either. I either have AA/KK/AK/AQ or air. But whatever i had my soul read.

I then proceed to get it in with JJ for 25bbs vs CO raise ( he has KK obv).

Anyways had a better day online where i managed to win some live UK seat worth 3k$, final table the 17.5k on ftp for 1.6k, super sat the monte carlo sat tomorrow (1k) and win the ftp 20r for 3k. That's about 7k profit and a long due win.

Ill start with ftops.
First of i manage to satellite the 1k 6max in on of those 100chip sngs (where the play was LOL, ppl limp folding with 4bbs wtf wtf). but busted pretty quick as my QQ twice ran into a set in a 3 bet pot. Anyways, in the next ftops (6max 300r) i got stuck at a very tough table with David Benyamine, genius28 and believer8219. I managed to dbl first hand before i had chance to rebuy so i save myself 300 and finished the rebuy period with the minstack but for a discount price. I was pretty happy with my play on a very difficult table and felt i was playing pretty good. That was until Benyamine lost a race and then played this hand awfully

Earlier i managed to get myself a package to the vienna euro challenge(7.5k$) which was nice although i had never heard of the event. Things got pretty dicey when we got 3 handed but i luckboxed the seat.

I seemed to have lost all of the mansion hands but its a crapshoot so apart from early on it all races and resteals. Anyways managed to final table the mansion 50k with moorman and while he lost a race and finished in 9th, i managed to ladder up and spike a 2nd for 8k. Obv i'm disappointed i didn't win as i donked off superbly heads up.

So last night i played the big saturday tournaments and things went pretty good. I think i played very good last nite and was very unloucky not to pick up a 20k score.

It then gets super crapshooty and i have 700k to the other twos 200k. I shove K10cc on button and get called by 99. flop a fd and brick to the guy who sucks out on my QQ. I then 4 bet shove 99 into same guy, he tanks with AK (lol) and wins race. 3rd place for me. and 7k (20k for first).

So very very disapointed about that.....

Coolered out of euro deep stack tournie, and running bad late in tournies....

so i managed to run awful again in a live donkament. went to Dublin with johne147 to play the Euro deepstack 1500 euro ME. Had a good time while i was there but very disappointed that i busted early in a cooler. I basically killed the table in the first 4 levels and even owned Julian thew a couple of times (altho he did make a good call down vs me). Anyway i managed to bust in a huge 700bb pot when i flopped a set of sixes in a 3 bet pot. I can ever fold here no matter how deep i am (well mb 1000bb's deep). Here is the hand on the update page:

Anyways came back to london today and played some donakments and managed to play pretty good but get unlucky with 12 left in 3 tournies. Not much news from the last few days. Been a bit frustrating as always. Managed a 5th in the 50-50on ftp. But been frustrating in everything else. I did however manage to win an ftop avatar race which gives me entry to half of the ftops events (3k package). It's a bit stupid tho as a lot of the nlhe events aren't included and some plo tournies are instead. I wouldn't play the plo events but this will give me a chance to improve my plo game which is woeful. I'll be trying to improve my game over the next week or so.

So i got fucked in the 1k and sunday majors were a washout.
Only just got my internet back, so ive been play live at this local poker club. Its a 1-2£ PL holdem game and the play is equivalent to a $25nl game. Every one is pretty deep tho so it's a lot of fun.
Anyway i pwned every1 on the first night.
The first huge pot i won went like this:
I just lost a 400£ pot so was tilting a bit, and i raise next 4 hands. This guy 3 bets 3 of those 4 hands. and i fold the first two. but the last one i get JJ so i call in order to play a flop (both had £600+ stacks). So i make it £7 utg, he 3 bets to £50ish. I call. Flop Q83 rainbow. I check he bets pot (130ish) very quickly. My read here is that he either has AA/KK or air. So i call, looking to check/fold turn. however a J turns so i check raise all in over his committed pot bet. he sighs and calls with KK. and berates me for an hour. Altho his pot bet on turn is bad imo as im check folding everything except a set/2pair there. And he probs has me drawing to two outs. so he can check to get a river bet out of me.

I continue to own the the table. And then this huge hand happens. I raise KK utg. and get called in two places and the BB 3 bets to 50. (we had been clashing a lot and he was pretty lag). So i 4 bet to 150. He calls. flop J76hh. i bet 200 into 300. he shoves after 2 mins. i snap call. He has 99. turn 99. ship the man the 1500£ pot.

played the usual Saturday tournies and didn't cash in anything.
However there was the mansion 1k 6 max which was 500k gtd and played over two days. I managed to grind the early period and was at 10bbs at one stage. I then gambled with KQ and won vs AJ. Then i grinded back up to 15k (was at 3k 10bbs).

So i played a lot less volume last night, playing two different sessions which including all the 100+$ buyins from 6pm to 8pm. Didn't manage any cashes except in the crypto 20k, where i took second for 3.6k. Then played the 2 ams (stars 150k, stars 20r and the tilt 6max 100r). Was in for 700 in th 100r but got a good stack. I played pretty bad tho and crashed out when some guy calls 1/3 of my stack preflop with 9 high. WP sir.

LOL at live poker

So i played the GUKPT brighton and was amazed and how retarded the level of play was. It was one of the easiest tournaments i have ever played. Live players just have no idea about stack sizes, ranges and basic tournament play.

So early on i play super loose passive and dont hit many flops during the first two levels and hit the break with just above the starting stack. the next level was 75/150 and i started to open a lot more pots. At one stage i must have had a vpip of 60%. Anyways people are retarted:

I open KJo for 400 and get 3 bet to 900 (he has AA 100% of the time). I call (we both have 10k stacks) flop K10x rainbow i check call a 1/3 pot bet and check fold to his pot bet on turn. He shows AA.

Next orbit i open 77 after raising last 4 hands and get 3 bet to 900 again ( he has AA obv). I call, flop 762 2 diamonds. He bets 1/3 pot, i call. He pots turn i shove he insta calls shows AA and i hold. ship it.
So up to around 18k and i basically run over the table, increasing my stack from 18k to 36k without many showdowns.

Then disaster strikes.
A young guy comes to the table with a 30k stack during the 4th level (100-200) and stares at me all night as i basically grind his stack down to 16k because he is a retarded fool. Anyways he manages to luckbox some one shoving 10k utg with 87s into his AA to give himself a 26k stack. He has rarely played back at mee all night but i know he is gonna make some stupid move on me.
He raises in mid position at 400-800 (26k stack) to 2200 and i look down at QQ in the BB and 3 bet to 5900. I 3 bet really small as i know i can outplay him on the flop while i also felt he would bluff shove here a lot. He thinks for ages and then weakly moves all in. I snap call. He has A9o and rivers a straight. Putting me down to 10k moving into the last level (500-1000).

I then shove AQs over a utg+1 4x open by a 12bb stack who has no idea about opening ranges as exemplified here as he tanks and eventually calls with A8s and hits a 8.

So live poker is rigged and people are completely retarded.

I am definitely playing more GUKPTs as 80% of field is dead money.

Finally get a result!!!

Cash games have got better in the last few days and i have made a bit of a recovery. After running half decent for a bit. but cash is dull.

Mtts are much more exciting and i finally get a good result taking 2nd in the 32k on FTP for 6k. I ran shit hot in this tournie making lots of fun mistakes and getting it in light a lot. But i run good, and so i shipped 2nd after dominating the final table. I managed to run QQ into AA 4 handed for a big pot and lost, ran AA into AA and AK into AK (3 handed). HU was pretty lame but i managed to get the chip lead with A9 VS k9 aipf and then pretty soon shoved A8 on the button into AQ and never recovered. But im happy with my play overall on the final table.

Gonna be playing all weekend so i guess that ill lose all this profit by then. Sigh

Cash game swings

So i came 6th in the 32k on monday night, which was kind of disappointing but i ran pretty good at the end of the tournie and managed to final table despite being desperate at some stages.
Anyways been playing cash since, and played a super long tilt session which went pretty badly.

But things have turned around tonight as i won 3 buyins at my usual level of 500nl (I just dont understand these 200nl donks).

End of year review

Sorry i havent posted for ages but after a shit month i have beena bit lazy about it.

So here are my results for the year which are pretty solid. They are kinda inflated by my 3 big wins (2nd chances and the tilt 300 6 max). Obviously $154573 in mtt profit is pretty sick for my first 6 months playing and getting ranked (for 2 weeks) makes it a pretty good start to my poker career. I feel i have lost my way in the last couple of months and im not sure where my skills have gone. A couple of goals for the new year are:
1. to finish my dissertation
2. make another $150k
3. play 100k+ hands of cash and break even (lol)
4. get into ranked in top 50 (or just ranked again)
5. Play live more

My 1st losing month, and a couple of deep cashes in sunday majors

So i'm having a terrible time at the cash tables meaning i am having my first losing month of my poker pro career. Think something has gone fundamentally wrong with my cash game as i am spewing everywhere, so will have to take a look at that over christmas.

last nite id played nearly every sunday major on every site and managed 5 cashes in the 10 major tournaments i played. Managed to final table bubble the ipoker 200k which sucked as for some reason i got all confused with having a short stack and there being no antes. I shld of gone shove crazywith 18 left as there weren't any payjumps till the final table and it was a complete crapshoot. Alas i didnt and i grinded out in 11th.

Managed to just squeeze into the $ in the warm up, crypto and betfair majors as well. The other dispointing tournie was the mulligan where i managed to get a huge stack after 4 bet shoving 100bbs with 77 and winning the flip midway through the tournie (http://www.pokerhand.org/?1847602)
This obviously coincided with my ipoker final table bubble.
I then folded for an hour after realising that everyone was 3 betting me every hand and that i had to be patient.

So the rankings came out today and i finally creeped into the top 100. Was a nice feeling as i'm actually down for month (due to awful run in cash games). So haven't had internet for a week, thanks very much British telecoms. Bah
so after figuring out I'm with 2 or 3 spots for being ranked i decided play every 10k+ prize pool tournie from 6pm to 12am. This amounted to about 30 tournies, of which i final tabled none and managed only 3 cashes. The worst was busting out of the 100r with ten to go to the $ racing for a top 5 stack. Oh well. Playing tired (thanks to BT's early waker up call telling me there is a fault on my line , I KNOW THERE IS FIX IT!!! i replied) and 16 tabling isn't a good combo. And i pretty much played like a brain dead zombie all night until i tilted off my last 4.
oh well, at least i won a 2k pot in HU just now (sick call down by me when 300 bb deep, 66 on 22784 rainbow board after guy floated and bet turn bet river). im a calling station :P

Nothing much has happened in pass few days, been playing a bit and my sleeping pattern is completely fucked so ill be trying to stay up all day to get back to normal.

I apologise for lack of updates but i moved to a new flat last week and my internet only got set up on sunday so obviously i couldnt do anything about that. It was nice to have a week off from poker as well giving me a fresh perspective but my sunday tournies didnt go very well with only 1 cash.
Last night didnt go to great either as i only managed 1 cash but it was a win :P.

So im up to 4th in the UK plb rankings and up to 92nd in the sliding plb rankings. So just missed out on getting ranked. Think i need one more 150+ score to move me up to 85thish in the sliding and then ill probably get ranked. Oh well.

Playerd the ftops 300r and managed to get 11k stack for the min buyin (900$) which was nice. But after that i barely got any hands and managed to double once with a flip and then pretty much sizzled out. sigh.
dropped 400$ on cash to add to the 900$ and 300$ stars FO as well as two 50$ FO. which puts me at - 1700$ for the day.

Not gonna play that much this weekend because of im currently moving flats, but hopefully ill make the sunday majors.

Deep run in ftops 8

So went round to andys and played the ftops 8 together. Andy bust out halfway through after using up all his luckbox early and losing a flip. But we both played on and managed to grind our 10-20bb stack from 400th to 59th rarely getting above 20 big blinds and not really picking up any hands really. We felt afterwards that we played very well throughout without making any mistakes. Ended up shoving 12bbs with K2o blind on blind into someone with around 30bbs which i felt was a decent shove giving his stack and smaller calling range. However we ran into 55 and good game us.

I'm a bit disappointed but not too fussed. Had a great time playing it and i feel that andy and i have a great grip of the game when playing together. He is well known within the online poker community and has an incredible understanding of poker. Would have been sick if we had got deeper as i felt if we ran hot at any stage and got a stack we could have a real shot of winning it. Oh well. Rankings out tomorrow and i may sneak in but moorman says it will be close. So wish me luck. Don't think ill play mtts tonight and might just have a cash session.

So Sunday Majors... normally are shit, this time however something was different. I busted out of party pretty early but had a huge stack in the stars warm up and was top 5 in the mid stages but got fucked on the bubble and managed a 110th or something. So 1 cash so far, and i was going good in the million until i lose a race and have to grind pass the bubble and managed like 600th (not sure about positions). two of 3 cashes from sunday majors so far. I busted ftops with AK vs KJ which kinda sucked. Managed to get a big stack in the mulligan after racing ship happens and winning but the got it in QQ vs 88 and lost. Then obv get it in with AJ vs A2 and lose to bust in 46th. I would of been chip leader in that if i win those two but whatever...

Moving on...

The 2nd chance was sick, i grinded the short stack the whole tournament and then proceeded to dbl up with AA after bubble ended:

When we got to 3 handed i basically ran the table over and had 1.8 mill (other two had 1.6 mill combined) when a deal was suggested. i was reluctant to deal due to my dominating stack and i figured i was the best player. So when they offered 40k (chip count) and i said 42k or nothing we played on. This was fine by me as the blinds had gone up and i was huge.

Been pretty unfocused this week. And been playing pretty crap mid to late in tourneys and often donking early when i get be bothered. Had 4 decent staks tonite in the ftops 100r, 25k ftp, 60k ftp and stars midnight but didnt cash in any because of a couple of bad plays.

Think my last big win has meant that i dont care so much now. A bit stupid and hopefully i can re focus soon. anyway playing majors at andy's tomorrow and hopefully he can refocus me.

Been a bit lay recently as regards to posting my blog. Havent really had much success this month and have had a couple of chances of decent scores scuppered late in the tournament. Came 7th in the 50k on stars a couple of nights ago and could of won it but made a move with AJo on the final table bubble and ran into KK which put me down to the shortstack which kinda sucked as that pot would have given me triple chip lead. Had a couple of thirds in small tournies and a 4th in the tilt 120 KO tourney that had a decent prizepool (7k for the win) but the blinds got stupid towards the end (avg was 12bbs) and i ended up busting in 4th when my QQ went down to 55 all in pre (apprently he hits his 1 out as other guy folded 65). Oh well....

Ftops tonight which should be fun but annoyingly my mate work me up early as i was hoping to sleep until like 6pm here (ftops starts at 2am) so i wouldnt be tired. Unfortunately he called at 2pm and i am now very tired and its only 3pm.

Been running pretty awful in all my tournies recently so it was nice to get a decent result but it could of been so much more. I was top 5 in chips with 30 left and chip leader with 3 tables left.
However i then had a seriously bad run of cards and my stack depleted severely meaning i came into the final table as the shortstack with around 20bbs. I finally pick up a pair of eights and shove only to be called by KQ (for half his stack) and obv losing the all in pre.

Pretty disappointing as i thought i had a gd shot of another big win but i cant argue with 3.4k which is more than i have been making recently.

running bad still and november plb bet

Sorry i havent posted for a bit, but the last two weeks have been a complete blow out and im lacking motivation to play. I seem to be able to get a good positions for decent scores all the time but then get outdrawn or set up and come 30th or 14th etc.

It's been very frustrating as i had my biggest ever win and since then nada...

I know have the moorman KK curse as i have bust from 50% of mtts with it. It just never holds if there is an A to be found full tilt party or stars will give it.

Im sure this is just a standard bad run. It just sucks.....

On a seperate note ive entered the P5s november plb team challenege and moorman just used his 2nd pick for me. Obv....

So played last night and while i managed to satelite most of my tournaments i didnt manage one cash which was deeply disapointing. Can't remember losing so many races, 70-30s, and 80-20s. But i guess this is my run bad patch. I've banned my self from stars and full tilt for 24 hours. I plan to not play until saturday. I'm sill up £5k for the month but i was having another 5 figure month and its very disapointing to run this bad. Oh well....

GUKPT: live poker is rigged

So i just bust out of the gukpt without doing much wrong (except maybe my final shove).
It started well as i built my 10k stack up to around 14k in the first level. Then i get KK utg+1 and make it 300 to go and get called by the small blind who loves his suited connectors (and was talking about some big wpt cash earlier). The flop comes AhKh4c and to my delight the guy bets out 500 which i obviously raise to 2k putting him on a big flush draw of some kind. He quickly called only for the turn to bring the 6h, big sigh. He checks and i check behind. River was a blank (pls pair the board) and immediately puts in a pot sized bet. After watching his play it earlier it was apparent that he like to pot his big hands so i fold face up and he shows me Jh10h.
After that i was down to 8k and 20mins later i look down at QQ in small blind. some guy opens for 3x (he had 4.5kish behind) and someone else calls. I squeeze looking to isolate the initial raiser who thinks for a bit and shoves AK. I call and lose the race.
So i play the shortstack for ages and eventually go out shoving 97 utg with 8 BBs and lose to JJ.
It sucks as i was really looking forward to going deep as the standard of play was pretty poor.
I hope moorman and andy fair better tomorrow.

Sorry i havent posted in a while. The 750k really tilted me and my subsequent final tables this week didnt go well (i made 4 and didnt finish above 7th place). Anyways im feeling much better now.

It was a tournie with a very tough field and i managed to grind to the final table switch gears and take it down. My mate andy helped a lot during the final table, so gonna give him a slice of the prize.

So went deep in 4 tournies tonight and managed only 1 final table.

Firstly i swear the 32k on full tilt will never let me go deep as i obv run my KK into AK mid tourney for the chip lead and lose. http://www.pokerhand.org/?1544360

decided to take a shot at 1000nl last night and ran obscenely bad. lost with bottom set to top pair (runner runner straight), AA to A7, ran top two into bottom set on dry board, KK in AK (A flops) and then tilted off another 2 buyins or so. The players at 1000nl were just completely crazy and confused the hell out of me. Maybe im not at the right level to step up yet and maybe i shld concentrate more on mtts and 500nl.

So i start the month with -6k$, which sucks.

Woke up this morning feeling awful as i have never dropped that much money so quickly and it was kind of a shock. But i got focused and set about getting back (chasing losses is always gd motivation)

Put a lot of hands in at 2-5$ today and won around 4k$ back which was nice, so i am actually down about 2.4k$. still sucks tho....

I've been running pretty sick at 500nl on littlewoods (crypto) and i feel i have a huge edge in this game as the regulars arent even that good. Most British players seem to be just pure gamblers and have no idea on how to play poker profitably. Anyway here is my graph for 500nl on crypto:

So got deep in a couple of tournies tonight but only managed one final table (the party 20k gtd).

I got off to a huge start ending the first hour with 20k in chips and the chip lead after being bluffed at and people generally donking chips to me.

Made the $ about 6th in chips and then lost a couple of pots and was short with 2 tables left. However i managed to triple up in a series of hands (QQ vs 1010 and 3 betting a bunch) before the final table and had the chip lead. The final table kinda sucked as all i had was JJ which i passed to a utg limp shove (he showed AK and im so behind to his range). But managed to luckbox down to 3 handed where there was a huge chip leader, me and some shortstack.

However instead of getting heads up i obv get AQ on the button and 4 bet shove in to the big stacks QQ. Some people just run hot on final tables, i however am not one of these people.

So just came 2nd in the party 15k 30 rebuy crapshoot. And a little frustrated at losing the 2k extra i would of picked up for first. Getting it in 3 way (3 handed) with tens vs big stacks 99 and small stacks AK. Obvioulsy a 9 pops out on the turn and i sadface.

Would of have had a shot at a triple crown with that win although i am relieved i wont have to play every tournie on poker stars for the next 5 days. Id probably lose 2k just doing that as i seem to final table everything on stars at the moment or just fuck up the final table itself. Lost KK to K10 on final table bubble of the daily 50k last night.

Oh well some much needed plb points and it moves me closer to my 20k profit target i have made myself this month (only 1200 to go).

Gonna take tomorrow and saturday off probably and will be back for the bankroll drainer that is the sunday tournaments.

Sorry i havent posted for a while, was at my sisters wedding all weekend. PLayed all the majors last night and didnt get anyway obv.

Anyway today was v good as i woke up and played some cash and shipped around 800£ profit for a couple of hours win. Later i met up with chris moorman (moorman1) who is in london for the ept and is staying at mine (he had a sick win last night btw). Decided to play the midnight tournies through to 3pm. ended up finihsing 5th in the UB 20k for 1k or something and won the 16k 30r on tilt for 4k. Didnt record any hands but did have huge stack with 15 left after grinding most of the tournie and basically played solid and managed to ship the win. Dont have Hand histories, sorry.
but i got it in with KQ vs AA on Q high flop with a lot in the pot and decent equity vs AA and managed to runner runner the straight :P.

So managed to get deep in two tournies tonight the 100$ FO on stars and the 30r on tilt.

Things were up and down for me in the 100$ freezeout and i butchered some hands early on.

However luck wasnt on my side as i reached the final table and ran QQ into AA and had to grind shortstack to get 6th.

Once again a frustrating night but at least i made a profit.

Sunday Majors with Shaun deeb

So went round Andy's (tufats) place tonight to play all the majors. This was a particularly gd idea at them time as ShaunDeeb was also there playing the majors. So i got some"gd coaching" and some help with some hands and ended losing a 200bb pot in the wcoop with KK after the flop (he had 2 pair but kinda drawy flop). I also bubbled the warm up and got deep in the 10k 6 max.
Anyway ended coming 4th in 40k on cypto for 3k altho should have won it. but that elusive 20k score is still not realised.

Just got back from a stag night and found that i was 4k$ richer after my mate came 7th in the $150k gtd on crypto that i had satelited into yesterday without realising i couldnt play it. That makes takes me to about $10k earnt in just staking people in last month, maybe thats what in should be doing.

50 races: no wins

Today i ran sickeningly bad. I didnt make it deep in anyhting and just couldnt win a hand at all. I ran QQ in to KK in the wcoop and lost KK to AK and QQ in the third hand of the second chance. I also dropped about 250+$ on the 10 rebuy which was nice and proved that it wasnt to be my night as i lost allin after allin.

So i cut my losses and decided to play some HU while railing my mates Moorman1 and j4mbo as they went deep in the wcoop 1 and the 2nd chance. Moorman obv busted with 30 left in the second chance losing a flip after the flop (nothing new there). While j4mbo is still going strong and with 135 left and is probably regretting selling 80% of himself for 970$ after getting a big stack early. I hope he goes v deep.

Tonight was going to be the night. I was playing great and going deep with stacks in 4 different tournies.

Firstly i manage a 5th in the UB 8k which was fine as i shortstacked the final table. Then i bubble the final table of the tilt 10k 6 max after running JJ into QQ and then losing a race.
I also final table bubble the gcsop 50k after being chip leader with 30 left after i lose 3 races in a row and end up shoving top pair in to a better kicker.

Then i get really deep in the 25k gtd on stars and the 10r. I end up final bubbling the 25k after losing AQ to AJ for chip lead and then going card dead. Sigh.

Its very frustrating at the moment as i am playing great poker and getting stacks that let me go deep. I thought this one time i would be able to get a huge score in both the 25k and the 10r but it wasnt to be. Maybe ill run good in wcoop but im not getting my hopes up.

Made my way down to leicester sq today to check out the wsope. It was kind of fun walking round railing some of the pros and seeing some familiar names from the online world. Unfortuantely i wasnt able to see helmuth go nuts or any big hands go down. I might pop in again sometime this weekend.

Anyway i ran awful in the tournies tonight and didnt cash once and seemed to get outdrawn by everyone and then just ended up tilting away most of my tournies. sigh.

Played a 3 wcoop sats and managed to get 2 seats to the wcoop 2mill on sunday and the 1k event which is pretty sweet. My bankroll doesnt really enable me to play the big wcoop events so sateliting them is my only option. Im hoping to play well in the 6 max on friday as i figure 6 max to be my best game. We will see....

Didnt post last night as i was too frustrated after final table bubbling twice. First i get huge stack in 10k 6max on tilt but inevitbaly get whittled down after losing race after race and bust 11th. Then i am chip leader in gcsop 50k on crpyto with 30 left only to finish in 13th after losing AJ to KJ all in pre. So wasnt in the mood for posting. Getting so close to a big score is frustrating.

Today was pretty much the same, built a huge stack in the early 100$ FO on stars only to go completely card dead with 30 left and bust in 11th after this hand:

Managing to triple up in first 5 hands of the party monday super tournament and never really looked back. I made one v bad call on a QQA5 board after 3 betting AJ blind on blind. The villian checked the flop and check raised all in on turn. I call due to pot odds and river an A to beat his Q10. He obviously had a Q and was a silly call by me. However i still manage to make the final table where i short stack myself to 4th place and made a nice suckout here:

So i had a fun time playing the 10k gtd 6 max finishing in 5th after being chip leader with 40 left and having to play 3 handed with SCtrojans and pearljammed.

Trojans had a bit of a cry when i busted him in 7th after misclicking with A9 pre to his 3 bet and flopping two pair vs his AK on AJ9 flop (i dont have hand history). Needless to say he went mental in the chat and acted like a child. I have a lot of respect for his game but i have no idea why he behaved like such a wanker when he plays so many tournies every day and is one of the most successful players on the net.

So tonight started off pretty badly with me not winning a pot for what seemed like hrs. Dropped 5 double rebuys in the 50r on stars (which i may now stop playing). Busted most of the tournies i was in.

I did however redeposit on littlewoods where i used to play back in the day. I made the final tables of both tournies i entered ($20k and £6k) busting in 5th and 8th respectively.

I finally win a tournament. After several days of final table bubbles and periods of not cashing i finally take something down. It was a relief after being unlucky in a lot of tournaments recently where i felt i was playing well but just ran into coolers or misplayed one hand which fucked the rest of the tournie. Today i ran good.

Things didnt start well tonight when i bubbled the final table of the 15k gtd on stars. I bluffed a huge part of my stack with 17 left and had to grind a short stack, finally busting in 12th. Not that bad considering i had 5 BBs on the bubble. Obv i lose AK to QJ (more on common occurrence that later).

I was also was the bubble boy in the full tilt 10k 6 max which was annoying as i was playing really good in it and just lost a big race right on the bubble. (i wasnt surprised)

Which brings me back to the 10k gtd labor day special (no idea what labor day is) where i had a horrendous start. Flopping the 2nd nuts and losing to runner runner higher straight.

so i made the final table with a 1/4 of the chips in play and quickly dominated the table chipping up to 1/2 of chips in play with 5 left. I made two bad shoves (sucking out on 1 and losing other) but felt that i had generated enough chips with my aggro play to justify gambling in these situations.

This was the final hand HU where i was torn about calling as i was sure i was beat. My kicker was no good and i mite aswell be calling with AQ. But i felt i could gamble here and as i had 2 to 1 chip lead and my coin flip told me to call.

Last night wasnt very fun, i got stung by a wasp at 2am. I mean wtf!!! Dont wasps sleep. Anyway the sting put me on tilt somewhat and i busted out of everything pretty quickly and failed to hit any final tables. Had another deep run at the 50-50 maintaining a decent chip lead until there were 60 left, then i lost QQ to 55. and finally bust in a massive pot when i shovd my riverred flush vs the nuts where i shld of just called any river bet.

First up i'd like to congratulate j4mbo on making the final table in the gutshot Main event. Coming into the day with 12bbs and making it to back to back final tables (he won it last year) is pretty sick. gl tomorrow.
I obv bust out early in that with a set of aces vs a flush when the guy had no right to draw with the small implied odds given my smallish stack.

Anyway today was the majors and i played most them except the million ( i got to draw the line somewhere). Firstly i bubbled the party 300k which kinda sucked as i had built a decent stack early on but luck wasnt with me. Except here:

Today was gd fun. I made two final tables (stars 25k gtd and party 18k) and feel im playing/begin luckier now than i have been in the past week. Have been questioning my game recently so has been nice to finally put a run together

Ended up losing HU to a very bad player who seemed to catch everything. I just couldnt break his 4 to 1 chip lead.

Later on in the night i managed another final table in the stars 25k gtd busting in 6th in a race vs fellow brit zpaceman. Would have been nice for my 44 to hold up as apart from GB2005 i felt i was the best player on the table but it wasnt to be.

(still in deep in fifty-fifty on tilt so fingers crossed)
Some nice plb points for me tho.

Planning on stayingup all day in order to sleep enough to be awake for the gutshot main event.

played the usual tournies tonight and things didnt go to well.

here are my bad beat stories:

In the daily 50k i built up a huge stack and was in the top 5 with 100 to go.

tough spot to call with bottom set here. But i thought my set was gd as a higeher set or a straight was unlikely and the board was sooo draw heavy. So i went with it. Anyway i ended up busting in 70th after losing 4 overpairs to A rags. sigh.

went deep in the 50r and busted in 24th (18 paid) in a race for the chip lead.

Ran KK into AA on $50 1 rebuy 1 addon on the bubble..... tooo obv!!

Also went deep in the 25k gtd on stars. Tripled up early in 3 way allin pre with AA vs KK and 22 (wtf?). I passed stupidly passed AA on a dry flop to a very nitty player and he showed me KK. so obv went on tilt and managed to chip anyway and came 22nd after AK sooted beats my AA all in pre. obviously!!!!!

Did get one gd result tho coming 2nd in the UB 8k after being in top 5 for most of the tournie eventually losing to GB2005 HU.

Live Poker - Eazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy game

Didnt play any tournies last night, instead i decided to join j4mbo and gaucho for a bit of live cash fun. I ran pretty sick making a total profit of £1k. Firstly i get AA back to back, getting paid on my second one. Then i ran JJ in to gauchos 87 on a 10 8 6 board in a reraised pot and stacked him (WOOT), not sure gaucho was taking it seriously altho he does have decent equity vs my hand. Then a flop a straight with 87 on a J 10 9 5 2 board and pot it till the river where my value bet gets paid of by two people. After that i just picked up some dead money and cashed out.
Heading back to the mtts tonight. feeling confident for a win.

The high stakes balla, the mid stakes pro, the tournie phenom and the face

Met up with some friends to play the sunday majors together. My mate jamie (the face) knows gaucho (the highstakes balla) from full tilt and we went round to his flat where he was staying while on holiday in london. We also met with andy (the mid stakes pro) who came round and talked about levelling his oppenents a lot, lmao.

Anyway we all played the ftops main event and the sunday million, while i obv played all the majors. Jamie and andy went the deepest in the ftops ME both cashing for a small profit. I also cashed in the stars warm up and a couple of other small tournies. Obv i bubbled the million running my K high flush into the nut flush for a huge pot (my check raise all in on the river was not neccassary lol).

So sundays didnt go to well as always. I also played some 2-4 HU cash and dropped 2k to this absolute luckbox (altho some of plays were marginal). Yesterday i headed over to the gutshot poker club to satelite in to the main event there. This tournament looks particuarly sick with a 1000$ entry and with the same structure from the wsop ME. I obv got my seat with 1 bb to spare, which was nice. I have never seen such awful satelite play in my life. Some guy was nearly all in with his BB (had 400 left over) and the big stack on the table limped in. The BB checked to the big stack who only had to put 400 more in to an 12000 pot in order to put this guy all in. The big stack asked the guy "you checked?" and then insta mucks, WTF ?!?!?!?!
The place went mental and i was a bit pissed off as this looked like stone cold collusion. However Jamie (the face) told me that this guy was just awful and hadnt really played much. Moron.

Heading out tonight for some food with jam and gaucho, then moving on to the western to play some live cash which should be fun. Its nice to have a break from the grind of online poker. Ill be playing again tomorrow thru friday hopefully, the its the gutshot ME (3 day event).

I've been a bit depressed about poker recently. I've been running badly and not getting any decent results. I've been having doubts about my game in general and made me think that i was just a luckbox :P. However i've been playing pretty well today and yesterday and just havent had the breaks. Last night i won 1 race out of 12, lol. It was getting a bit sick and i was a bit fed up. I also spent a shit load trying to sat the 2.5k ftops event with no luck. So have been a bit down as my tilt and stars balances have shrunk somewhat.

Tonight i played all my usual tournies and i felt i was playing pretty gd. I went deep in the 12k 6 max eventually coming 12th, inevitably losing a big race with AK. Dblled early with a nice 3 bet and flop to go with it :P, not sure bout his river shove but ty v much sir

Came 26th in 50r on stars after a fairly uneventful tournie where i mostly grinded a shortstack.

Finally however i managed to ship my self a win in the 8.5k 20r on tilt. It was a bit of a crapshoot at the end and i made a couple of mistakes on the final table such as:

played some cash and some tournies yesterday. Ran pretty good on cash playing some full ring 1$/2$ and some HU 1$/2$. The HU games on stars on tilt are so easy to beat these days and probably the most profitable games to play. I started playing them in order to improve my HU game in tournaments but quickly found they were quite profitable. Occasionally i will run in to a solid regular on HU and i normally just leave after 20 mins or so but if i find a donk with a big bankroll then i could play all day.

I hate my play in this hand, there is no way i have this guy dominated as i doubt he is 3 betting AQ or worst. This was kinda the story of my night misplaying nearly every hand and this was no different. This was an easy fold.

The only tournament i got remotely deep in was the 30 rebuy on tilt where i had an average stack with 25 left (18 paid). Some how i inevitably bubbled shoving 3 betting 77 blind on blind and calling the guys 4 bet shove. He shows KK i dont improve. gg.
There were some fun hands in that tournie, specifically when i 3 bet a minraise with JJ only to get 3 callers and flopped quads. i check it down hoping for some one to boat up. They all brick and the shortstack takes a tiny stab at it and folds my shove. Sometimes i wanna bet so weak in pots like these just so i can get a call from somewhere or for someone to make a move on me. oh well.

returned to the felt today after staying up all day and taking a 2hr nap before the nights tournies started. I didnt really perform to best abilities tonight and haven't really for a while. I'm not sure what it is but im gonna take a few days off so i can come back refreshed and feeling better about things.

So after last nights windfall i decided to buy straight in to the 1k 6 max ftops event. I've been looking forward to this event for a while as i think i have a good 6 max game. Anyway thing got off to a gd start and i worked my stack up to 5k pretty quickly. However i had to lay down tens on a pretty scary board to what i percieved to be a bigger pocket pair, mb AcKc or some random suited connector with a 7 in. Anyway there was no way i could call here with tens which kind off pissed me off.

After this i was kinda short and grinded for a while before getting reraised with JJ and deciding to call and check raise all in on a low flop. Needed to dbl or get some chips so when the flop came ten high i check shoved in to KK. good game me.

The night didnt get any better as i got knocked out of the 55k gtd cold calling a 3 bet with AA and getting it in on a Jigh flop against JJ. ouch.
I then get owned by andy mcleod, in the 25k on full tilt, who limp calls 64 vs my AA and flops straight against my set on the turn which kinda sucked.

Profitable nights sleep

Wierd night...

So i start the majors and bust early in the party and warmup. standard.
Then i start playing the rest of them and the power gets cut from all the houses on my street. GG majors.

So i call up my friend (j4mbo) and tell him to play all the majors for me. He's a gd player but without much online mtt experience and a bit rusty. I head off expecting a phone call in the morning saying he had bubbled everything.

To my surprise i get a call at 5am saying he was down to the last 100 in ftops event 6.
Jamie ends up finishing in 12th for 12k and 300 plb points. woot. i take 50% for staking him and have a the most profitbale sleep. SHIP!!!
